Newspaper Logs
Does anyone make newspaper logs for their fireplace? If so, how do you like them and how long do they burn approximately?

I have seen the gadget they sell to make them, it seems pretty good, THEY say that the logs burn for about 2 hours.
I would love to have a multi-fuel stove & then I would get one of these, just asking your neighbours &folks you knowfor their old newspapers giving you free fuel, Frugal and eco-friendly

The way to do it by hand - and I've only read this, haven't tried it.
Take two sheets of newspaper and roll them around a dowel. When you get to almost the end, add two more sheets and roll.
When your log is fat enough for you, tie it somehow - I'm guessing twine would be fine. Then SOAK your log at least a couple hours. I forget how long. Then let it dry - probably takes a few days.
This is to make it burn longer and "fuse" some of the paper together.
I found this 'recipe' on the internet. Worth a try just for the experiment. I'd do one with soaking and drying, another just rolled newspaper.
