How steam radiators work
It was explained to me that the best place for those cast iron radiators is under a window. I always wondered why ours were on the outer walls - why not inner walls? The reason is that the hot air created by the cast iron radiators rises, hits the cold window and this creates a convection current in the room and thus moves the warm air to other parts of the room.
Just thought someone else might be curious.
