Talking Hot Flashes have an up side!

I can't believe I am saying anything good about hot flashes but the other day we got a fuel oil fill up. We are on automatic fill every 2 months. We only needed 71 gallons! That is about half of what we went through last year at this time!

Because of my lovely hot flashes we have lowered the temp in the house, usually between 60-62 degrees as opposed to 68-70 last year. Jack has been complaining a bit but the other day actually said he thinks he is getting used to it!

Oh and I am always in short sleeves or tank top and shorts or my summer (cotton) nightie and robe. He is bundled up in long sleeved t-shirt, sweat shirt, sweat pants, 1 or 2 pair of heavy socks and fleece lined slippers!

LOL that is a nice perk from the hot flashes.

btw, when I was on Effexor I started having hot flashes every so often (every day, but only a couple of times a day). I don't know how you deal with it. It was awful!

That's funny Dee, you could have written almost the same thing about me and Gripey. (I'm on HRT, have been since I was 25 but still stay pretty warm most of the time.....not many hotflashes lately)

    High five!

Same here. I was having huge hot flashes until I got pregnant last year. They're starting back up now, 6 months post partum. I'm staying nice and toasty this winter!

That sounds like me. I don't mind it being cold in the house either but the other family members complain.

I also noticed that I am able to keep the thermostat lower now that I am experiencing hot flashes thus keeping our heating costs down.
