I am so Mad
I just got an ebill on my gas bill in dec bill was $129.39 in Jan bill was $347.49 now I got feb bill it is $187.25 I did not lower my heat or change anything I had called in Jan and they made some excuse that Iwas under charged in Dec I think that they raised the rates and did some hidden fees because every ones bill jumped so high. and now its back down again I think they had a lot of calls from people compalian they had to do something I could not lower my heat due to ds and my health problems so I am wondering what happened. Has this happened to any one else even my water bill jumped $20 this last month and I know that I have not used that much water I wonder if all the ultity companies are losing their minds its not like we can live with out this stuff. sorry to vent I am just so mad it makes it really hard to plan a budget and stick to it when the utilities jump so much and I am doing everything to lower them and they keep going up. Not sure what to do. Thanks for letting me vent.

Pam,
Did they do an estimated bill one of the months? That's what it sounds like to me. Here they do that every other month, estimate one and really read the meter the next time. Does the utility company have a budget plan? I find that this helps me greatly in budgeting my utility costs

No the bills were all read from the meter they said and i have thought about the budget plan but I only use the gas in winter my heater is the only thing that I have that is gas I am thinking of starting a savings for an HE heater and ac unit might bet worth the upgrade to save on bills am going to start looking into that as soon as I get done with all the medical test I need to go through from lazy doctors the last 2 years another story, I just hope I can start seeing a drop in the bills soon.

hello, newbie here. our dec. electric bill was 200 bucks. the next month i made sure that the heat was turned down, all lights were off when we were not in the room, i did everything i could think of. the next months bill was 195. i checked the usage from jan 2006 and compared it to jan. 2005. we used just a few more units then last year, but our payment doubled. i have now replaced all our light bulbs with the new halogen bulbs, i hang more laundry to dry... i really cant think of anything else to do to cut our electric bill!

They had a big thing on this here in NY State. It seems the month of Dec was warmer than usual so the electric company charged poeple for the electric it WOULD have sold to them if it was cold.
They got away with it too.
