    Default Got my electric ebill....

    Man.... it's up at $98.80

Which is ok, last month is was $125 but usually it's at $50, I know we started with the new electric econo heaters, I think they cost 3 cents and hour to run and we have 2 of them so that adds up to $43.20 but I've been cutting down on leaving the lights on and using candles.

I wonder why it's so high...

Anyone else's electric bill going up?

I don't know, it sure sounds like you are doing everything you can to save.. Are you sure the little heaters don't cost more to run than you thought? Maybe that actual cost of electric is up this year, does your bill have a summary of usage and how much each unit (whatever it's called) costs?

Tracy - I am in Bethlehem also and have noticed the increase in electric. I recently signed up for the budget billing at $88.00 per month.

I would love some more info on the econo heaters that you use. I checked their website out and find it interesting. I heat with oil and use space heaters as needed. Do you find the econo heaters work well? Does the wall get warm or hot? I dont use my space heaters over night, I am too afraid of an electrical fire.

    Hi Ann Marie,
What part of Bethlehem? I am on the west side.

Here's the link to the econo heaters:
    http://www.eheat.us/data/products.ph...ucts&show=0601

Now they say they only heat a small room, but the master bedroom is 15 x 16 a pretty nice size and it heats it up really nicely.

We also have one in the other bedroom which is 15 x 15 and it heats that up so good and we even leave the door open to that room and he heats the hallway and other bedroom too! They are pretty pricey but they pay for themselves in the long run.

We haven't turned on our oil heat at all this winter and I hear tonight is going to be in the 20's and tomorrow is supposed to be really cold too with lots of wind!

Now about the heaters, they get hot I mean you dont want to have your hand there for a long time but if you bump it or a kid touches it by accident they aren't going to get burnt. It hangs on the wall and it installs easily too, I think it was the best purchase we've made instead of spending so much on those portable electric heaters.

    TTYL!
