    Angry electricity bill, argh

well i got my bill yesterday. by replacing all my bulbs with energy eff. ones, turning off everything when not in use, and hanging my laundry to dry we are using half or less of the kw hours we use to use. BUT since we're on average billing, my bill only went down 20 bucks. argh! i only used 95 dollars worth, but since im still paying on average what i used during the summer, my bill was 183.

20 bucks is better! My DH says the cost of energy can go up during winter and summer months.

Do you have really old appliances?
That can do it. Water heater, if old, can run up the bill too. I think.

well we've only been married for 6 years, so all our appliances are 6 years old or less. but the hot water heater and central air unit are both fairly old, but the hot water heater and the heat on our unit are both heated by gas. which is why are gas bill is also higher. (grumble grumble)

Our last gas/electric bill was 104.00.

    This month is 65.00.

    Reason?
DH not home(snowboarding etc...) so lights/tv/spa have been off!!

We have a really old washer and dryer, and an older fridge.
I think the water heater is newer, not too sure...

The pool/spa equipment is around 8
    years old.

    Still new I guess?
We are slowly getting new appliances...maybe in 2 years we will have all new.
