Question What is your monthly power bill and/or heating bill?

Our electricity is $40 per month.

Our heating bill, which is gas, is approx. 150 a month from Oct. until early spring.

Our electric is $90-$95 a month we haven't turned on our heat so $0 there, but we use the Econo Heaters so that's why our electric is higher than our normal $40-$50 per month.

In March it was $60 and at the beginning of the month (April) it was $30. I'm hoping that it will stay low.

We have oil for heat and hot water. Total used this season was 537 gallons which is very low for us. We normally use around 700 - 800 gallons a year. We had a milder than normal winter this year so I am sure that helped and we also started to use 3 oil filled space heaters as needed. We had a price cap of $2.30 which was ridiculously high. The total bill for oil was approximately 1,220!!

My electric on the other hand does change from month to month especially in the summer with the central air on. I am on the budget for $88 a month and am hoping that will be going down with their next adjustment.

Most of our appliances are gas......I didn't use the heater at all this winter but our average gas bill was $45 and my average electric bill has been $55....that will go up as we get warmer and my gas bill will drop significantly!

Last month it was $328.00 for electricity and this included a $50.00 price adjustment that they charged everyone and I had not used my heat all month. This month it was $289 which included a 17% per Kilowatt price increase. They are killing me!!!!!!!!!!

It varies. We are all electric here and our rates have continued to rise with each hurricane season. I don't want to even imagine our bills once we turn the a/c on.

Our electric bill runs about 30.00 a month. We are an all propane home. So, our propane bill is of course going up everytime they fill. Thank goodness that only happens 2 or maybe 3 times a year. We have budgeted 100.00 for propane. With gas prices going up all the time I hope that will be enough.

Our electric is $82 average and we are on a budgeted propane bill of $175 per month but we usually get 4 months where we are ahead adn don't have to pay that.

$266 a month, averaged monthly. All electric. Inefficient electric heaters that we hope to someday replace with a new heat pump. 1800 sqft shop on property, as well, so this is some of why it's expensive.

    Tracy,

I'm wondering how warm those heaters keep your house? If you only have 3 and they only heat a 10x10 room??? Doesn't the house get a lot of cold spots??? And don't you have a multi level house? (I looked at the website.....) How long have you had them...do they run all the time???
Curious, since dh needs something to heat his garage.

About 20.00-25.00 a month. We have electricity only. We live in an apartment and have no washer, dryer or waterheater. The last two condos that we owned which had washer, dryer and water heater we paid about 40-45.00 a month.

this winter electric has been about $130-$145
Gas this winter has been between $183-and $321 we started to remodel and found that in our attic there is no insurlation so we are going to add the bathroom upstaris and then insulated the whole upstairs instead of remodling our downstairs bathroom we figured it would be better to save on utilities this summer.. and next winter and the savings we could use to remodel the downstairs bath...

Our electric bills are around $100 during the winter (although they were up a little this past winter) and $130 during the summer. Our gas is on the budget and it's $183 a month, but it's time to be assessed again. We also have two kerosene heaters that we used throughout the winter. I think we filled our containers probably three or four times at about $30 a time. Of course, before we had our furnace serviced, we had to use them all of the time. After the servicing, it was just too hot to need them.
