Gasoline prices are killing me!
Ughh --
I sat down and figured out that dh and I pay about $70 a week in gas for our 2 cars. That nearly makes me ill! We don't even drive big vehicles! Right now we're brainstorming on how to cut down on driving. Anyone else feeling the CRUNCH???Heather

We spend about $70 every 2 weeks on gas. I consider us lucky that DH works about 3 miles from home and I am off from work for the summer.
Can either one of you possibly carpool with someone?

I feel your pain, hubby drives almost an hour each way and it's sucking us DRY! Top that with the fuel for the tractors and fuel is taking a bigger and bigger bite out of our budget each month.
Luckily I'm saving fuel BIG TIME right now, my truck is grounded so the last fill up will last me longer than normal.

My dh commutes 100 miles a day, round trip. Most days, he rides his motorcycle, so the cost is minimal. Last month however, due to thunderstorms almost everyday, he couldn't ride the bike. We spent a little over $500 for gas for the month.
We are definitely feeling the crunch!

So far it's o.k. We're not taking any big road trips this summer, and I always try to combine errands. I just drive my most economical car whenever I can.

There is a carpool at my work but unfortun. for me - I live in the "south" end of the city and they just don't come that far down of the x-way. If I lived closer I would ride a bike or walk but its about a 20-min drive for both dh and I going in opposite directions for the same shift.
Right now I am just trying to combine all trips with my workday so I do errands on the way home and then PARK the cars!Heather

My Hubby drives a little over an hour each way to work each day, we are spending right at $600.00 a month in gas (A House payment) and we are really feeling the Crunch!
Not only that but everything here has went up in prices due to gas, and so we are getting it on both ends as I am sure you all are too. It seems were paying double on groceries, needful things,.........electric went up 25.00 a month (surcharge fee) and our water went up 70% Yes Thats no typo. they said it was due to the plant needing repairs (I figure its to pay for there gas)
were in the depression I think! (At least I am depressed LOL)

We are well over $100 a week here too. More than likely somewhere closer to $150. Dh drives a truck to work 50 miles 1 way. DD's put gas in my car seeing as it takes them back and forth to work. Stinks, I am thinking of buying a 3rd car just to save on gas but 4 drivers and a 3rd newer car will put me over the $500.00 a month mark just for the car insurance. Gives me a headache just thinking about it. My second alternative is to just rough it out until dd#1 turns 21 in Nov. and can afford her own car payment and separate insurance. This way dh can take my Neon to work leaving the new truck with me without the dd's driving it.
And if this isn't enough imagine our oil bills this winter. Last year they doubled for me this year it will be even worse. Pellet and wood stoves are looking good.

Yep, I know what you all mean. Everytime I fill up the Suburban I pay $90+ dollars, that usually happens once a week. Hubby also drives a truck and fills up far more then I do. I am now having to cut back in other areas to afford the gas without breaking the budget. I am afraid it's never going to get any better. We considered buying another, smaller, vehicle but ran the numbers and found it just wasn't worth it. $13,000 for a smaller used vehicle will buy a lot of gas. Not to mention we wouldn't have to insure another vehicle.

DH spends about $50 to $70 per week ingas, just depends on his work schedule. I start my new job Monday, it will be 26 miles round trip, I am curious to see how much it will cost. I too, am worried about heating bills, last year we spent $2000 for propane for just 800 gallons. It was a mild winter.
taking one day at a time, trying to get rid of debt!!

It cost us around 150.00 for son to drive a little over an hour each way back and forth to school. He has a part time job ( can't get many hours due to school schedule). Add in what we spend in gas and it's probably reaching around 200.00 each week. Most weeks we may only bring in 550.00 - 600.00 more or less, so this is killing us with no end in sight :-(
