Thumbs up LOVING cable telephone services!

Well, I just got my first phone bill from our local cable company and I am doing the happy dance!

It is $29.95 a month. That includes unlimited long distance to the US and Canada. If I want to make overseas calls or calls to Hawaii, then I have to get a prepaid phone card (don't know anyone there, so that's ok!) It also includes call answer, call waiting, and caller ID. There is not an option to have a cheaper bill without those features, but I really enjoy having them anyway.

A comparison: Base phone bill from Bell Canada with the same features (call waiting, etc.) $47.85

And that is with NO long distance. My family and my sweetie all live in the US so think about how much my phone bills must have been - the last one was $146 and change.

I have been perfectly happy with this phone service, having had it for a month now. The only caveat is that if cable goes out so does your phone. Well since that happens maybe once a year, I can live with it for a savings of $110 a month!

    Buh-bye, Bell!!!!!!

WTG! Glad to hear of such a great savings. I have Vonage, and it goes through my cable internet. I love it as well. Much cheaper, and my family is all long distance.

We also have Vonage. We got it about a year ago. We've had a few problems with it, but for $28 a month with unlimited long distance calling.... I'm not complaining too much...lol

We left Bell too...and are now with Rogers (we got a bundle with internet, phone, and cable). Our bill is still a little high because we have some extras on there and I am attempting to convince dh to lose some of them but we are saving about $50 per month by switching plus an added bonus is that we have one less bill (Bell) to worry about each month!
