I saw this article this morning about compact flourescent bulbs. My mom switched to these last year. I'm switching as soon as I see a great price!

We've been slowly switching over our bulbs for the last few months. I just need to get two more 3-packs for the bathroom vanities. So far we've noticed about a $10 a month decrease in our power bill.

I just bought a package of them at Sam's last week. I tried them a few years ago and hated the light they gave out, but I've decided to give them another try. I had no idea they saved that much energy, though!

I love ours. Definitely look for them at warehouse stores like Sam's (great prices).

    Thumbs up

~ Well I just purchased a pack of 3 from Walmart for $8. I wish we had a Sam's Club. I thought the nearest one was an hour away but I could swear I hear my FIL say he bought something at a Sam's Club recently. Hmmm. Guess I'll look that up. I just replaced the 3 in my living room. I figured I was burning $7 a month in there. CFL's should burn less than $1! So cool! I'll almost get back my purchase price this month! And it should drop my KW usage under 600, finally!

I'm in the process of switching too. Better the $$ in my bank account than the utility companies!

I think these are good for most times, but not for reading. It messes me up. I am slowly changing for most things though.

I've found good deals at Lowe's. In fact, I received a flyer in the mail this week that their having a big sale at the end of August. A lot of energy saving items are on sale.

Did you maybe mean September? hehe! I came back here to complain. My CFL's are flickering right now. WHY WHY WHY?!???! Urg. Think I'll turn them off for awhile.

we have been using energy saving lightbulbs in out hallway for a few years, but our electric prices have went up and we have ended up with a higher bill than normal so ive went and changed nearly all the bulbs in the house to energy ones to see if it helps, and im turning off lights when they arent needed.
