URG!Had to turn on my heater.
~The house was 57 degrees on Sunday morning but I didn't turn on the heat. The sun warmed the house pretty fast. But I noticed that all my houseplants were limp and turning brown from the cold. So I turned the dial on and set it at 60 degrees. It's kicked on a couple of times Sunday night and last night. I wanted to make it to November. Oh well. Just more motivation to insulate!~

Had to turn mine on last night it was 38 outside and 50 in here. I was bundled up but my not so social cat was in the covers with me...unheard of...so I turned it on.

You guys are tougher than me!! I've had the furnace on for at least a week. It is wet, windy and cold in the Columbia River Gorge where I live and I'm a whimp. And DH will have an electric bill to reflect it.

Still haven't turned it on here. It's gotten down to 56* first thing in the morning, but warms up to 59-62* later on. I did tell dh, when/if it gets down to 55* in the house, we will turn on the heat. It hasn't yet

I'm still having to run the a/c here almost every day. I'd love to keep it off, but it has been too hot and stuffy.

I could have stuck it out awhile longer, but DH was being a wimp...lol and turned it on Monday night when he came home from work. I've been turning it off before we go to bed and then turning it on in the morning just long enough to get the chill out. Of course I have to turn it back on right before DH gets home from work.... lol

Woke up yesterday ( I get up mighty early) and the thermostat read 54. Came in from work yesterday and the thermostat still only read 58. Broke down and turned it on since we were all going to be home for the evening. It'ss been reading in the high 50's for a few days but since we haven't been home alot I was really hopeing to make it through the billing cycle. (Would've been Nov. 9th) oh well.

It happened. The temp got down to 55* in the house yesterday. Plus we were gone most of the evening & didn't get back until late...too late to start a fire in the woodstove. We turned on the heat.
BUT, it's only on 59/60*

We turn our gas-furnance on 2 weeks ago.
However, We have 3 portable electric heater, so those were being use instead.
The gas-heater kicks on, if the house goes below 65 (so far, it only kicks-on about twice and only for a few minutes). I only use 1 of the portable heater in the room i'm in all day, then we use one at night in our bedroom.
We use these 3 portable heaters last year, and save about $100 a month compare to the year before that. So, we're planning on doing the same thing again this year.

DH broke down and turned on the heater this morning just before we got up for work. Weatherbug said it was 37 outside which means it wasn't much warmer in here, our house is old and uninsulated with exposed beam ceilings. Lately we've been using the propane heater to warm the house up in the mornings but I guess DH didn't want to mess with it today.
