    Default monthly payments

I just found out you can set up your oil bills to come out for 10 months and at the end you may end up with a credit or get a small bill, It depends on how much you use. I went to our oil provider today and asked them to set it up for us if it was not to late. They said no that we would just be paying for 8 months instead of ten. When I asked them how much it would be I couldn't believe it, 100 dollars a month! What a relief that means we won't get hit with any large heating bills. Next year the payments will be even less because we will be paying for 10 months instead of 8. We were so worried because as of right now we are in the hole with the bank because they changed DH pay schedule all around and now the bills don't match up to the pay, but we are working on that. At least I now know that we won't freeze this winter because we now can make the payments.

thats great, this is exactly what we do for oil. we pay 120 Euro a month and just ring up when we want a fill, in may we get sent a statement either saying how much we owe them or they owe us. we always owe them and last year it was quite a lot but we realised that we had a hole in the pipe and were losing oil each time it was filled.

we have since fixed the leak and so far we have only used half a tank since april ( 500 litres), I got them to top it up to a 1000 litres today and that will go on my bill but i figure that this may they will owe us for a change!

That is great! My oil company offers that also. But since I prepaid this year and got burnt for $2.49 a gallon, next year I will just put the money in a separate savings account and shop around when I need a fill up. I havent had a fill up since the end of March so we have been really doing well with the oil over the warmer months since we only use it for hotwater. I am sure they will be coming out to fill up the tank soon and I am guessing I will need between 150-170 gallons, hopefully that will last a while!

after having my gas cut off a few times in the past two years, and paying reconnection fees etc i was so fed up. then i got a bill for nearly $600 a few months ago - twice as much as the year before! i've spoken very sternly with my children (mainly ds who was home all day and up all night, leaving all the heaters on, even if she went out - sometimes she'd leave the front door open as well!) and tried to explain. i got a small payrise in august and a bigger pay packet than normal as it was backpaid. it went straight to pay that whole bill (tight month!) and then i called the gas company and asked to have a regular payment deducted from my bank account every two weeks. so now its costing me 47 a fortnight.

i'm really hoping i end up in credit, as we are really trying to reduce our consumption..
