saving on hand soap
We use liquid hand soap here.
I recently bought several foaming hand soap pumps about $2 each. Read somewhere the soap in them is about 1:10 soap to water. Mixing it myself.
I buy BIG refill bottles from Sam's. Had one almost gone, and a brand new one. Mixed 1 to 10 soap to water in the almost empty one and refilled all my little ones. Using 10% of what we used to!
Now if the kids use 2 squirts it's still only 20% of previous! I'll only be buying soap once a year.
Did have one pump that didn't function as well, kept getting stuck and slow to rise put it at the least used sink.
You may have to shake them every couple of days to keep the soap mixed though.

What a good idea! I usually add a bit of water to ours, then put a rubber band around the neck of the bottle so it only releases 1/2. But I like those foamers--hehe..saves a bit of water when trying to wash up since it's already sudsy!!

Great ideas!
I love the Bath & Body Works foaming soap but I only buy it when I have store credit or it's really on sale. (Not very often!)

I scrounged an empty foaming bottle at my sis-il's house a year ago. I've use leftover soap bits, bubble bath, liquid soap, shampoo and body wash at different watered-down ratios and they've all foamed. I'm gonna use the rubber band trick on 3 softsoap dispensers I got for free. I'll make 'em last!

couldn't find a rubber band, so i put a cable tie around the pump. heheh my 4 year old went to use the soap after school and boy was he mad. i told him thats all the soap he needed from now on. grumpy little toot. now im going to have to put one on the kitchen pump to keep me from using full squirts.

I bought empty bottles at the dollar store. I refill them with body wash or shampoo (usually find it on sale for 69 cents). Love the rubber band idea. I cant wait to try it.

I was a happy camper when the rubber band trick worked--though now I use a elastic hair band 'cuz the band kept breaking. I used to water down the soap but it would leak off my hand before I could lather
and where's the saving there lol! Hmm..maybe a band around the foamer would increase the savings even more??
