arrghhhh, heating trouble
well, this is just great! we woke up this morning to a flood in the spare room - looks like a pipe has broken underneath the floor from the radiator - luckily nothing has been ruined apart from the wood floor. I shall have to call a plumber this morning - just what we didnt need was a callout cost, let alone how much it will cost to fix. Do you think something like this can be claimed on house insurance?

We had a pipe burst a few years back. Our homeowner's insurance covered everything except the plumber/fixing pipe. All of the damage to the floors and the place in the wall the plumber had to break through to fix.
So sorry to hear this happened. Hope your homeowners will cover some of it, if not all.DD (19)

I'm 99% positive it does. However, call your insurance company, tell them what happened, and figure out what it would cost to pay for it out of pocket vs. what your premium and rate would be next year if you went through insurance.

I am sorry this happened to you
but I am pretty sure it would be covered, of course you will have to pay your deductible but be sure to contact your insurance company as soon as possible.

well, the news isnt that great, the plumber has been and gone. it seems like the pipes are that old that they just eroded and he thinks that there has been a leak there for a very long time. the whole floor is ruined but the insurance company said they will cover that and the plumbers fee - we jst have to pay the 100 excess, which is great. the only thing is that the plumber says that the other pipes are pretty bad as we really need to put in a whole new system which will cost alot!

Oh no!! That can't be good, but I am sure that your homeowners insurance should cover it.
