    Default HE Detergent Question

I don't necessarily think this belongs here, but I was wondering what those of you with front loading washers used for detergent if you have sensitive skin? We were doing okay on Sunlight, but it wasn't getting the clothes as clean as I would like and still too many suds. We tried President's Choice liquid HE and all of us are having varous reactions. It is not rinsing clean even though I am only udsing 25 mL per load (recommended is 85 mL) and it the first time I have had to worry about stripping cloth diapers (used on first dd for 18 mos before, this child 4 mos!). Has anyone ever heard of/used Charlie's soap and has it worked or should I just try making my own?

I make my own laundry soap. I only use a tablespoon of it. It is really cheap and it doesn't suds up. I have a front loader also.

I tried Charlie's Soap. I didn't honestly notice any difference between it and any other soap or detergent I've used. I have very sensitive skin, as well as one of my kids. When we had a HE frontloader (which I totally hated and just replaced with a basic washing machine from Costco, I will never buy top-of-the-line again) I used Arm/Hammer or Costco (Kirkland) brand that was perfume/dye free. I just used less if it wasn't HE rated. I recently read in Consumer Reports that Tide really ranked high for getting clothes clean. I know they make HE detergent, but of course it's more expensive. I think the Sears brand got good reviews as well.

I have a FL and use both Tide HE and Kirkland brand HE (free and clear?) detergant. The latter I use for cloth diapers and it does a good job, however I'm staying away from PUL fabrics so don't know how it would work with those.. The amount is tiny, like 1 tbs, if I put more there are suds in the rinse cycle.
