    Default My Electric Went Down

Got my bill today and we had a very good savings on our bill. Jan it was $120 this month it was $75. We put a timer on the water heater this past Dec. That was a good investment!

Great! I'm happy to hear that it lowered the bill! I did that in my old house and enjoyed my lower bills!

That is great! I would love to trade with you. I won't even say how much mine was because you might freak!!

Ok, here goes......$441.xx. It has to be because of the ice storm. I shouldn't complain because I have heard others say theirs was over $600. We are all electric.

May I ask how do you put a timer on the water heater? Is it something that you put on or did you have to hire someone?

My hubby put the timer on.(I"m blessed with a Mr. Fix-it). We got it at Lowes or Home depot and it cost $40. He put it on at our circut box, that way it is easy to override if we need too.

Hey, it paid for itself in 1 month! WTG I want to get one installed, but every workman/plumber I talk to says it dosen't help much.

From people I've talked to they say it does help.....so I think I'm gonna get one on despite what the "professionals" say.

Mine was down too! IT was only 15 from a usual 30ish. I've been VERY conscious of using lights and watching movies. I obviously don't have a lot of electric, or mine would not be so low to start with. Do you think a timer would work on a gas water heater? I've been considering setting it back by hand after showering, but I shower first thing in the morning and don't want to set it up all night nor wait for my shower. I don't mind doing the dishes right after I shower while the water's still hot.
