One cancels out the other--aargh!!
SO, I went crazy trying to cut down on the water bill. After letting my family think I'd completey lost my senses, I managed to knock off a whopping $2.00. Not complaining--over a year that will add up, right? Right. So, the new bill comes in and the amount due to the city is still the same. Huh? Upon closer inspection, the charge for trash pickup went up $2.00. It went up $2 over the summer when they switched companies. I'm assuming this newest hike is due to the gas prices. ~sigh~ I'm fighting a losing battle here, I think!
Sorry to whine--I wish all our problems were so petty lol!

I know what you mean, our water bill so we thought went down but the price of recycling went up so it's a no-win situation here for us too!
I sure hope things start looking up for the both of us, sometimes it can be so aggravating that we think to give up, but dont, we can do this.

ugh i understand. the water bill is one bill that i just CANNOT cut down, so i just quit trying. it seemed everytime i cut in one place, they would just make it up on another section of my bill. (our water bill consists of water, sewer, trash pickup and hospital tax) so when i KNOW i cut back on the water, my sewer would mysterisly go up. makes me so mad sometimes. it does feel like im fighting a loosing battle.

I can never cut my water any lower. But I tell you what, my gas bill is more customer service, ag pass through(to use their meters) and tax and then the actual amount of gas used. It seems just when you get to being able to reduce a bill they come up with another extra fee. In GA the water bill now has a $8.00 over water limit fee. And a river clean up fee for $4.00. I almost seems more than the actual water used too.

I've tried to be so conservative with water! But, like everyone else, I got my bill and it was only about $2 less. Unless there is a drought, I let it flow! I have other things to worry about that save so much more $$$!

Boy, you got that right!! I'll still be careful, because of conservation, but I'm not going to freak over it. The two bucks I saved didn't warrant the extreme measures I was taking. I'll just cut back elsewhere!

Yeah, our water bill is the same every month and is basicly prorated for pur neighbor hood.
We are really paying for trash and sewer and hardly any water.
I do better to watch the electric and gas bills.

My water bill is $80 a month, just for water. This is no trash, or sewage. I think the cost of water in my area is ridiculously high!!
taking one day at a time, trying to get rid of debt!!

We never seem to pay over $50 for the water/sewage/garbage bill
I looked on our local provider site and our family of 6 uses less than the average family of 3.5
so that's pretty darn good!
Now to reduce power... thinking powerbars need turning off.
