How much does it cost to run your AC?
~I live in South Jersey and our electricity is pretty high; $.145 KWH. I have one window unit, 12,000 BTU's and it uses 1210 watts. So I figure my hourly rate is $.175. Did I figure that right? It was a relief to me to figure out that 24 hours of constant use would still only amount to $4.20. How much does AC cost you?~

I've never figured it out. I have a CH/A unit, which is only two years old, so pretty efficient. I did find that my bills went down after it was installed. If my hot water heater is 20% of my bill, I figure the A/C is another 20%, so probably about $30 a month on really hot/cold months, and probably $20 on the good ones. Now that I'm conserving BIG TIME, it's less. I'm waiting to get my first complete months' bill using my CFB's and all my energy saving techniques, so I'll see then.
In August, it's probably a lot more to run my A/C, because we have a LOT of day in the upper 90's then. My ceiling fans help a lot to defer the costs.
