Default I called to cancel the cable tv and...

Cox gave me a promo rate for 1 year.

So now instead of paying $122.00 (bundled services)

We will pay $104.00. $216.00 annual in savings!

~I hate to be a killjoy but were you trying to cancel or lower your rate? Paying less for something you want is great but getting talked into something you'd decided you could live without is not so great. Companies can be very persuasive about keeping their customers. ~

We were going to cancel to switch to Dish Network.

I just wanted the bill to be less, and since we have bundled services, we would end up paying more for internet and phone with out the cable.

We cannot live without cable and internet either!!

I never had the cable company offer me a lower cost package when I canceled (years ago) so I can only assume they are so greedy they'd rather do without my business than offer me a deal. They even asked why I was canceling and I said it was getting to be too much $$ with the frequent increases. I've not received any special offers since then, either. Their loss.

Now that I've got high speed internet I've found there are movies and shows I can watch online for free so it's very unlikely I will ever consider paying for watching tv ever again.

I agree. This is the same reason I won't pay for watching TV. Too much offered online.

Wow that's great! We cancelled cable a while ago and now all we watch are movies (ones we already have at home) but we've been so busy lately the TV only comes on at night and within an hour we are all ready to go to sleep, lol
