Default OMG!!!! My Electric Bill Went DOWN this Month

Not sure HOW it was possible that during all of these aful sticky days with the A/C running at least 10 days MORE than last month, our electric went down $10!

Not that I am complaining! No not me. But wow who ever heard of the KW/hour rate decreasing for August anywhere???

Sorry, I was so excited, that I had to share!

i had an extra person at my house this past month and i knew all the utilities would go up. i just didnt know they would go up this much. our bill went from $70 to $269!!! - this person wasnt working and was at the house all day and i left them several box fans and showed her how i "do things" around the house (closing off sections of the house we dont use and things) - well. when i'd come home from work EVERYTHING would be on. fridge door open, bathroom light on, tv blaring, all curtains open and blinds open (allowing texas heat to pour in) and window units working, central air working. - ugh, i didnt know how to tell her to keep it off without being rude to her.

she's still here. its my mother. but her and the bf have made up and so dh and i have been seeing alot less of her lately. and now that she IS working she hasnt offered to help with any of the utilities that she knows shot thru the roof.

she's my mom, and i know that she hit a rough patch and dh and i just wanted to help her out but geez. my patience with her is running on empty. sorry! i had to vent..

latierra84 -- that's incredible. That's a shocking jump in a bill. But I guess there are some things that you just can't do anything about.

I'm in a state of shock myself. My bill went down for the second month in a row. Only by two or three dollars each month, but with the temperature climbing, it defies logic and science. The fuel surcharge has decreased, but not until you get out into the second or third decimal place, so that can't account for much. But the KWH has decreased. HOW could I be using less electricity? I guess the gods are smiling. I just looked at the bill -- it's $43. I'm paying $54 on the budget plan. I don't think I've ever gained on that balance during the hottest part of the summer. Go figure. But I'm grateful. Really grateful!
