    Default First month utilities

Since making just a few small changes my electric, air conditioning, and gas bill have ALL decreased! It isn't a huge savings, but will add up to a couple hundred a year! My biggest change was turning off my computer at night. We were already using cfl's for some time now. My biggest problem with that is that my daughter broke one and my son broke another! Those bulbs are expensive!

I have also been turning my air up a couple of degrees and hanging a few loads of laundry outside to dry each week. I hope to save even more next month!

My biggest surprise was my water bill! It was less than HALF than my last one! We've really been conserving water, especially in the bathroom. I've also been filling up my watering cans with the water that comes out before it heats up. (Did that make sense?)

Anyway -- I just wanted to say that it IS making a difference! And it will all add up over time.

Great job! I totally agree. Have you ever checked your electric meter outside to see how much KwH a day or week you use? We do that and on days we use dishwasher we try to cut back in other areas...etc. (does that make sense?)
For my electric company I can go online and see the past 2 years of charges and the past 2 months (since finding FV!) have been smaller each month then any month we ever lived here by almost HALF!

    Keep it up Great Job!

They've been doing studies over here about the energy saving bulbs - apparently they contain mercury and if they break you need to be careful not to inhale etc. I don't know if its the same in the US or not.

Wow, great job! Especially on the water bill...half! wow. I also catch the cold water and use it for stuff, usually I toss it in the washing machine for laundry. Congrats on the lower bills!
