Bubble Wrap on Window Panes
I've heard putting bubble wrap on window panes helps increase their efficiency and lower utility bills. I found this site
http://www.builditsolar.com/Projects...bubblewrap.htm
And surprisingly it doesn't look as ghetto as I thought it might. I was curious if anyone's ever done this. I'm thinking of trying it amongst other things to try and lower my heating bill this year.

That looks like a great idea if your frames are sound. Our frames leak air, so the best option for us is still that shrink to fit plastic with the double sided tape. Last year, I left it up and it has made it through the summer on the front of the house, and the house was cooler with the extra layer there, since the sun beats down on *only* the front windows of our house.
If you had curtains and did not mind the look of it, you could always put the bubble wrap on the frame, or just outside it with double sided tape, like the shrink to fit, but more insulating, I'd think.
