DD just bought 100 gals. and it was $300. They just installed a new energy effecient, blah blah blah oil furnance and hope that it truly is. Their tank is 200 gals and the company in this rural area only gives price breaks on 500 gals or auto-fill. They are moving to TX and turning their home into a rental and so they only purchased enough to get them thru and a little left for the renter.
We're all electric. I'm not looking forward to our winter heat bills one little bit.Robin

here it is 2.69 a gal
i think i have 75 gallons already, and a 275 gallon tank this is for heat and water. i cant afford to fill it up. my plan is to make it last, im ordering 50-75 more gallons this weekend and 50 gallon is $134.00, 150 gallons is $400.00.
so i figured every other week i would order 50-75 gallons.
do you all have any tips on making it last?
i figured we would keep the thermostat way low like 60-62 during the day (sahm) and 56-58 at night..does that sound do-able? what about with a new baby too? he is too december.
i also figured i would try not to use the hot water except of showers...i never wash clothes in hot water and dishes i thought about just luke warm water and maybe heating water on the stove..
will any of this make a difference you think?

hubby here wants the auto refill here. I think he said it was 500 or 550 gallon one. Im going to have to cut back on the hot water too to keep it down to minium. oil of corse is at its highest in years so thrifty i shall have to be.
Thanks folks the replies.
Tammy it makes sense to me. Dishwasher will have to be cut to maybe use of 3 times a week and no autodry.
I usually dont go without my hot water for whites though.
Showers- once are only once a day and towels have to be used at least twice.
