We have electric cental heat and an upright portable space heater for the bathroom for mornings that we don't want to run the heat for the entire house but need to warm up the bathroom for bathing.

Big soapstone wood stove in great room (living room/kitchen combo) and oil furnace. Our house has 8 separate heat zones so we can easily shut down the rooms that are closest to our wood stove or rooms we're not using. We can also heat just the bathrooms when we're taking a shower...gotta love radiant heat floors!!!

We have a fireplace, but we don't use it.. DH doesn't think it would be economical... Oh well... We have ceiling heat and use one small portable heater. It does quite well...
