    Default Budget Billing

I just signed up for budget billing for my gas, which I heat with, and my bill is going to be $75 a month. Last year my bill was as high as $200 during the winter months. This is going to take some stress off me.

When I did my gas budget, they let me lock in my rate. That helps also.
I am also on a budget for my electricity. It makes me feel so much better..

You're right, it really helps lower the stress level.

In Feb. I will sign up for the Budget Billing for electricity (have to live at an address for a year before eligible). I've been on it before and it's wonderful.

That's great! It's really a win-win situation. The energy company is happy because they have more money coming in during off-months, and you have less money going out during the on-months. I should sign up for that.

I love our budget billing. It has helped us even out our expenses.

They offer levelized billing for our electric, but my SO didn't want to do it and we haven't lived there for a year so I guess we are not eligible. It sounds like a good idea to me, but I don't know. I am afraid we'd pay more than we needed to or something.

We are always on Equalizer, just because it helps to have a fixed expense every month. We try very hard to beat the previous year's usage, so our Equalizer payment goes down every year. Last year we did so well that we did not have to pay a utility bill for 2 months while we used up our credit!

I love our budget billing. I like knowing ahead of time how much we are going to have to pay the power company. Makes getting the bill a little less bothersome.

Default You can do your own budgit billing if you want

I don't use the gas companies budget plan because I want to be in control. As an example I build up a credit balance in my gas account by over paying the amount due during the low cost months and use it when that big winter bill hits in January or February. Softens the impact of high heating bills and Christmas bills all coming due at once.

Most utility companies do not object to you having a credit balance in your account.

It is like paying rent one month ahead. It reduces stress.
