Default I Just Can't Win! Super Rant!

GGGRRR!!!! I just recieved my electric bill and I compared it with last month's bill..........although, it was lower by $40, the price per kilowatt jumped! I looked at last month's bill & it was 11.08 cents per kwh....now that I used less this month, the stupid electric company is charging me 13.2 cents per kwh.
Also to add to this rant...last month, they had tacked on a "new fee" of $4.20...when I called & asked them to explain what this was for they gave me a pat answer...they told me "oh, that is to pay the meter readers"...WTH?? You mean to tell me that all of this time the meter readers were working for free???!!! HELLO!!!!! What kind of stupid answer was that???
That charge was not on my bill this month....also it stated that the readings & charges were from CPL..(another WTH???)...what has CPL have to do with the electric company that I use(TXU)????????? They are about the most expensive provider here.
GGGRRR!!!! it seems that no matter what I do to lower the bills, someone is trying to screw me over

Sorry, ya work so hard but they still manage to get their cut. I hate it when the utilities do that. Our water company used to do that, seemed the bill went up every couple of months due to some new fee or increase of current fee. Our Monthly delivery charge for electric is going up from 9 to 13 in January.

I feel for you. My mom uses TXU and had such a fiasco with them. (Long story short--they cut off her electricity for an entire day because she had put in a request 6 months before to have it cut off at a rental property they had just sold. Totally different address and 6 MONTHS LATER! ) She is sooo not happy with TXU! WE only have one provider here and I'm almost thinking, after hearing both yours and my mom's stories, that I'm kind of glad of that. I'm sorry you're having to pay more for your electricity and you're getting hit with this bogus fee. I'll have check with my mom and see if she's noticed this new fee on her bill.

Ouch! That's rotten. A quick glance at my bill shows a lot of additional fees too. One reason DH and I are big on figuring out how to get off the grid. We are just sick and tired of being messed around with by utilities.

    That totaly stinks!!!

The OG&E guy didn't even go check our meter and ours was $95 this month. GRRRR! I bet he just checked the houses around ours and put it at the same! Since he never went into the backyard! (I was here when He was outside doing everyone's and he never stepped foot in our backyard where the meter is!) which stinks b/c our new home Has been totally reinsillated (sp?) AND I don't like to leave the lights on (the boys are baaaaad!!! about it tho!) & try to turn off all power sources that are left on by anyone! & I hardly use things like dryer, dishwasher, etc unless occasionally during nonpeak times!

But I feel for you! HOwever after looking on my bill, I don't see any of those bogus chargs on my bill! Call them back and check out the charges! If they have a "sqeaky wheel" they will be less likely to try to slide it by you!!!
