Default What is your electric cost?

I see some really low electric bills on here. We try to be very careful and I am thrilled to have electric come in at under 100. We do have a well pump too btw

I figure the difference might prtly be in taxes and the kWh per hour charges. We get a 10% increase in jan but I'll post the current rates.

    What is your kwh???
    Taxes??

    Our kwh is .09
    taxes~
    fuel cost surchare .000950
tax to assist low income people get free power 3% of bill
    county tax .50

Do you know the price per kwh??? I think they may acount for the big difference in all of our bills from state to state

I forgot to note in my original post that our rates are now winter rates and a tad cheaper.

Our kwh charge is $0.08678. The only tax on my bill is a 3% sales tax. My bill also includes almost $25 a month for having the 2 street lights on. I have debated about turning those off just because my immediate neighbors don't pay it, but they have the benefit of seeing where their driveway is at night because I pay for it. If I have the lights shut off there will be no street lights on outfront unless one of the neighbors decide to have them turned back on.

I don't know off the top of my head (don't have the bills around either, since we pay online) but it's better than what I paid in Central OH... *lol* that's about what I can remember.

Our KWH charge is around $0.96 - depending on number of KWH used and the time of year. It goes up after the first 1000 KWH used and then reduces back down after so many more KWH used. The rates for June - September are higher than the rates from October - May. Our rates are the same no matter what time of day/night it is. The only tax or surcharge we have is a 3.9% tax.

In the summer we use anywhere from 5000 - 6500 KWH - our average summer bill was in the $550 range. In the winter it goes down to the 2500 KWH range and the average bill is in the $200-$250 range. We are on the budget billing plan and right now we are paying $328 a month. Our power company evaluates the customer's usage every two months to determine if the budget amount should be raised or lowered.

I really cannot complain about the amount we pay considering everything we run on a daily basis.

    Ours is .067 per kwh
But this month I had over $50 in delivery and transmission fees. I need to look into that. Looking at the bills, that seems higher than usual, and our useage was lower.

We have two seperate meters here on the property, so we have two accounts. Combined, we will pay $131.76 for electricity for November.

According to our bills, it cost us $4.23 a day for 29 days of service. Our customer charge for the month is $22.50 combined, and state and local taxes combined are $8.64. It say's we used a combined total of 1,058 KWH's for the month, and we used an average of 36 KWH a day for both meters.

We have our well & pump on the other meter, and since it's been so darn dry here, we have used more water than usual trying to keep everything alive. We usually have a wetter winter than we have this year.

Our electricity is $.053 for the first 600, and $.062 after, although I think the winter rates might be lower because I see on my last bill that about half of my usage was billed at .050, I also think the winter rates might increase at 1000 kwh instead of 600.

Most of our distribution charges, regulatory charges, etc. are also based on usage, they add up to $.0347/kwh.

Our usage is also multiplied by 1.0466 to account for electricity lost in transit.

There are two flat rate charges, totaling $7.88. Plus GST.

I've never been over 600kwh, so I pay:
    $0.0877(1.0466(kwh used)) + $7.88 + 6% (summer)
    $0.0847(1.0466(kwh used)) + $7.88 + 6% (winter)

I don't pay electricity now so I don't know (not a bragging point--I wish I knew how much I was using!), but I swear I remember it being 4¢-ish at my old place down the street.

Our budget plan with the utility company is $300 (year round). That is natural gas (stove, hot water heater, furnace) and electric combined.

We have a 3 story, 4000+ (incl the 3rd floor) house that is 125 yrs old w/ original doors & windows. We also supplement w/ our woodstove & keep our furnace at 59-62 (programmable).

To be honest, I don't know what the cost per kWh is. Looking at National Grid's website, you need a PhD to figure it out.

We just got our electric bill and it was $54.11. I don't know what the cost per kwh is.

I've always focused on the dollar amount of our bill, that I've never paid attention to the kwh. I'll have to look more closely at it.

I was actually surprised that it was as low as it was considering that our Christmas lights (inside and out) are on for about 5 hrs a night. Thought it would be a lot higher.

Now my gas bill.....ugh...that's another story.

$15.31cdn. is a base charge everyone gets charged
    .0938 cents per kWh
    10% municipal surcharge
    6% GST

Some of the discrepancy might be due to some people heating with electric and others not. I know we don't, but we have an old house with old appliances. Last month's bill was $80.22, up $8 from the previous year...but then rates have gone up too. Plus I have a studio in the basement I'm using that I didn't have last year.
