Funny story about kilowatts

DD had to take a reading of our electric meter on the outside of our house at the beginning of her science unit. At the end of the science unit, about electricity, she had to write down the final reading and bring that number to school. She said that we won!!! We used the least amount of kilowatts than anyone in the class. She said that some of the families used 10x as much as us. She was so excited about this. DD told the other children that while they and their families are paying their electric bills she will use the saved money for a vacation. This child is 11 years old.

Now for the second part of this story~~~ A few days before the kilowatt reading, one of her vocabulary words was frugal. The teacher asked if anyone knew what that meant. Of course dd knew. She said, "It is when you do not waste money and you work at becoming debt free someday."

What a kid I have!!!!!!!!!!

That's a smart girl. Sounds like you are setting an example she is learning from. My DD is also learning about being frugal and I am proud of her too.
