    Default getting new windows

    I am so happy!

we have some money come through from my dads estate, the majority we will get when his house is sold and i will pay off the rest of the bills with that ( and have savings at last!)

anyway we have decided to go ahead and put double glazed windows in which will really save on the heating bills!

we have single glaze at the moment that are in a terrible state and the draghts are ridiculous!

hopefully they will be in by the end of Feb!!!

Good for you! I have old, aluminum what we call storm windows (2 windows actually, one on the inside and one on the outside) and in my bathroom, I kid you not, on a cold windy day, sitting on the toilet I have felt a breeze strong enough to make the hair on my head move. I've caulked and everything I can think of, short of putting up plywood over it done to it already..... .

I know you'll be thrilled to have new windows and you're right it will save on the heating and cooling.

~48 yr. old sahw, livin' it up in our empty nest, smack dab in the middle of everywhere.~

Good for you! We are going to be doing this within the next couple years I think but I'm afraid to find out the cost, lol.
We have 2 extra big windows that will add a bunch to the total.

Congratulations. Just think how much warmer it's going to be. Let us know how they are.

We replaced 12 windows in all here, and I can really feel the difference. That coupled with buying a new oil burner the year before has really kept us warm this year. I can't wait to average out our fuel bill for this winter, I think we'll see a huge savings. Now if I could only find some reasonable cable company. Comcast is killing us!

~That's great! We'll be replacing our 45 year old windows this spring. I'm so looking forward to the added comfort and $avings!~
