Hey Eneryboomer- Birney
I Have a question for you,
I received a Carolwright Gift catalog, they have what they call a solar curtain. Have you or has anyone else used these?
They are not very expensive..I like the fact that it has the see out but can't see in,, that would work great for the bath. They also look like they could be trimmed to fit.
You can find it at:

They work great against heat in the south Texas summer!

Solar Curtain Question
I had not seen these before, but they most likely work like the reflective window film that you see on office building windows. It would reflect some of the radiant heat. Good idea for East South & West sides of the house.
Let me know if you try it out.

Dang I would love to have one of these, but we have a huge window in the kitchenette that lets in some serious heat. I would have to buy like 8 of them though *sigh

I might give in & buy some of these.
We have an enclosed back & front porch that gets really hot & cold. I could just leave them up all year.
Just wondering how much they would save on the heating & cooling bills.Pine trees, with their needles pointing up to heaven, represent everlasting light and life.

I really want to try these for summer. I just moved into my new place in Novemebr, but I KNOW 3 windows in my house are going to get REALLY hot!
Thanks for the link - these seem to be the most reasonably priced!Stacey

Are these solar curtains made of the same thing as the space blankets? Space blankets are even cheaper than these curtains if they are the same thing.

I'm not sure about the space blankets, those are not see thru are they?
I went ahead and ordered 7 of them. If I don't use them this winter I can use them in the heat.
I have a large window also, I ordered the 36x84 I'm going to turn it on its side.
Then will staple it to a dowel or hot glue it to a rod or a 1/2 x 8 peice of plywood & nail it up under the curtain. Anyway That way I only need to buy one instead of two.
For all seven they cost $25.00, they also shipped for free.
Will let you know how they are when I get them.Pine trees, with their needles pointing up to heaven, represent everlasting light and life.
