    Default Electricity use question

We are using a average of $2.33 a day of electricity, that does not include all those extras on the bill. We heat with propane, along with the water heater but we cook and dry our clothes with electricity. Can someone give me a idea if we are doing well or need to cut back more? Thanks
    I should add,I'm a stay at home Mom so I'm home 24/7

I think you are doing great too! You might want to start reading your meter daily that might help you track your usage.

I think you are doing great, especially being at home all day. We also heat with propane. The water heater and stove are electric. We averaged $3.18 per day last month.

Total amount of bill divided by the number of days in that month?

My last month bill was about $70, last summer I used the same kilowatts and the bill was $30

Here they add extra taxes and higher charges to make the bill almost double in the cold months.

We lowered our electric bill to $44.82 last month including all the extra taxes and other costs just to have electric. That averages out to about $1.45 a day. I feel much better about our electric use now, once I look at it on a daily basis. We are at work 8 hours a day during the week which helps to keep it on the low side and unplugging our power strips when not needed.

Our bill has the average daily use and cost on the second page. We've averaged 10 kwh per day for the last three months. Just the two of us and we work full time and we heat and hot water with oil.

We just had to replace the fridge so we went with the most energy efficient, so I can't wait to see next month's bill.

I am definately going to have to check on this my electric bill is $130 a month and we have budget billing so that means they average the bill throughout the year based on last year. You essentally pay more during low usage months and less during high usage months. I am cutting back myself although it is very hard with little kiddies but I may not see a difference unitl next year.

I think $2.33 a day is pretty good. Our bill last month had us at $4.50 a day and I just looked at the new bill Friday night and we are down to $2.50 a day. Last month we have 5 people in the house, laundry more than one day, extra showers and elecricity upstairs. This month they are gone and our bill is less than half of what it was last month. I was so excited to see that. I went out and read the meter just to make sure the meter reader didn't make a mistake. He didn't. Yay!!!!!!

Hmmmm........ I thought we were doing well until I read your posts. Now I think we are not! I divided the bill by 30 and got $5.30 per day. That includes all taxes and fees, etc. We are a total electric house, so guess that makes some difference, but still it looks like we are using/paying a lot more than many of you.
