    Default Clotheslines are protected

I live in a deed restricted community which forbids clotheslines in our yards. Florida apparently has a law which protects clotheslines (and other energy saving devices) from any governing by homeowner's associations! I read the statute and there is no way they can stop it! DH will be putting mine up this weekend! Yay!

Thats right! I went threw this once. The only thing they can do is ask you to not put it in the front yard.

    Yahoo!!!

I never understand the stigma attached to clotheslines. I save so much $$ not to mention the environmental impacts by not using my clothes dryer.

I hung out three loads yesterday and four loads today. I get laundry done quicker with the clothesline than I do in the dryer, oddly enough.

Good for you! I would be lost without mine-I washed all the bed linens and curtains the past two days and hung them out. They smell great!

Good for you, it amazes me that they wouldn't want you to conserve, shame on them but too bad for them too, lol

Good for you. I've been trying to get hubby to put me up one. If he doesn't get it done soon, I'm going to get out their and try to do it myself!

There was one here when I bought the house. I thought it looked tacky because you could see it from the street. It was the umbrella type and the first time I tried to use it, it broke so I pulled it out. I've always wondered how one would hang clothes in a yard with a lot of trees, birds and squirrels in their yard? My neighbor has a clothesline and has never used it, not even once. I thought it was because of all the birds we have here.

It always amazes me that people arent allowed or dont want to use a clothesline, where I live in scotland nearly everyone has one, the only people who I know that dont have them are people who live in blocks of flats.
