Travelocity Users Beware!!
Just figured I oughta warn everyone about the nightmare we are going through right now.
TWO MONTHS AGO we booked plane tickets to Vegas on Travelocity. {NOTE: I've used travelocity, expedia and orbitz in the past and never had any trouble} Since then, we've bought tickets for several shows...non refundable.
Today, CBG received teh following email...
Dear TONY,
Thank you for booking your travel plans with Travelocity.com. Unfortunately, we were unable to process your reservation because the airline did not confirm your requested flights. Please contact our customer service center as soon as possible to complete your reservation. To expedite your call, please provide the customer service agent with your Trip ID. We are open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week In the USA: 888-872-8356
Since the airline did not confirm your reservation, we cannot guarantee your fare. We look forward to assisting you in completing your reservation.
Basically, we are completely screwed. He called customer service today and held for 50 minutes. No one ever took his call.
Needless to say, we paid a lot less for airfare 2 months ago and now we are unsure if we can afford the trip.
I'll keep everyone posted with how this develops. Cross your fingers!

Wow, that stinks. I hope you can work it out. I used Travelocity some years ago, but now with the airlines cutting every corner they can, I always buy directly from the carrier. It gives them less wiggle room, and haven't really found any difference in ticket prices once all the taxes and fees were added.
I would really have an issue with it taking them two months to notify you of this. That is totally unreasonable.Donna

That really sucks! I hope that you are able to find airfares that are affordable so you can still go and enjoy your trip.

I hate that kind of stuff! Used to be a company would do ANYTHING to make it right (like giving you your original deal...) but nowadays that just doesn't happen. I hope you can at least get close to your original deal.

Did they charge your credit card when you made your reservations two months ago. Seems like if they charged your card, they would have to sell you your tickets for that price. I'd be really upset!

Well, yes, they charged us and we had confirmations and everything. All our ducks were in a row as far as we knew.
The latest is that on leg of our return flight is not a definite flight as of now. It appears that we should be able to fly for the same price with some (hopefully) minor changes in flight time. The travelocity rep told CBG to call back in 10 days because that's when the flight's with supposedly be finalized.
I'll let y'all know what happens next!!

I am sorry that this has happened to you. The airlines don't care one bit about their reputation anymore. Next we will have to put our feet on the ground and run like the Flintstones did when they flew. Maybe it would save them some gas money but of course they would have to raise the airfare for some stupid reason.Good luck and I hope everything works out for you.

I just read this thread today -- were you able to get things straightened out??? I sure hope so.
I bet the airline cancelled the flight or gave your seats to someone else on the flight and that's why Travelocity didn't tell you until two months after booking. My guess is they told you when they found out the flight no longer existed or your reservations no longer existed.
This has been getting worse and worse over the last year -- it it totally out of control!
hoping you are ok and going to Vegas...Jen
