    Arrow Going to NC in two weeks...

    There's a lot to do in Charlotte. If you are taking children, you may want to visit Discovery Place. It's downtown and really a neat hands-on type learning experience. There's tons of shopping malls, restaurants, etc... There's even ice skating in one of the malls...Have fun!

    I live about 90 minutes from Charlotte and lived there for about ten years.

    Its a great city and there may still be some color on the trees that time of year.

    I moved away about five years ago and the city has grown like crazy since I left - Lots of new shops, bars and restaurants. I'll try and send you some ideas of fun things to do.

    Discovery Place is really nice, plus they have a nice museum. Micheal Jordan also has a golf course if your husband is into that kind of stuff. They have a really nice mall for shopping too. Maybe you should check out what is coming to the collisuem(and yes I know I spelled it totally wrong-duh on me). They have all kinds of good stuff there. Wish you luck on your trip. You will only be about an hour and a half away from me.....

    Chelle, check if they have a website and request they send ya the visiters guide and if they have the VDC coupons, most of the southern vacation spots use this service, it gives you great little local maps, places to visit and coupons coupons and coupons, and usually a little discount card too. We usually get lots of buy 1 get 1 on dinners and admission to museums and attractions. Enjoy your trip!

    I third Discovery Place/museum for the kids. There are a lot of shopping opportunities, Cannon Mills has a large outlet mall . Lake Norman is on the outskirts, beautiful, but will be pretty cold in November.
    Hope your trip is great, Charlotte is a wonderful southern city.
