Jamaica

Has anyone taken a trip to Jamaica? DH and I will celebrate our 15th wedding anniversary in April 2010 and we never had a honeymoon... I keep thinking about Jamaica. Just wondering if anyone has been, where you stayed, did you enjoy yourselves... If not Jamaica, anyone have any suggestion...

I've been to Jamaica three times! On our honeymoon, for my dh's work, and another on a family trip. It's an interesting place to visit, but I've been there enough. It's beautiful country, but a lot of poverty and begging. If that sort of thing bothers you, it might affect your vacation. Of course, we chose to spend most of time outside of the resort grounds, wanted to experience the real country, and that is what you see. There is also the crime factor when you are out and about there and you need to be cautious. Where would you be staying?

We haven't decided on a place to stay yet. Some friends recommended Sandals but it is really pricey.

Our family is going in November for 5 days at an all inclusive resort (vacation already paid for, yeay). We are doing Beaches. If you have never done an all inclusive, it would be awesome. We are not the type for all inclusives but we were at a wedding in Cancun and it was amazing. They treat you like royalty. Plus thay have many activities that are insluded in the price so it turns out cheaper than if you were to set up the trip yourself. Even better, it's worry free. I will post about our experience when we come back. Beaches also has couples resorts for the all romantic trip.
