This is my favourite area on earth to visit, but unfortunately our vacations always involve walking, lots of really difficult walking. So I'm struggling to think of what we did that was less intense. Sedona is a far ways from Vegas. Are you coming into Vegas and leaving from Phoenix, or planning to drive all the way to Sedona and back?
Montezuma Castle National Monument is amazing, just south of Sedona. It is accessible, with a short level walkway from the parking lot. We went on the Verde Valley Train, which was a nice relaxing afternoon, but might not be much to see in the winter.
All my favourite driving views are farther east - the Vermillion Cliffs, the Painted Desert, Monument Valley. How many months will you be there

What fun! We've been to Vegas many times, but haven't made it to the Grand Canyon or Sedona. I almost got hubby out to the Grand Canyon during our last trip to Vegas, but he started talking about how he really wasn't up to it then so I extracted a promise for next time. And I've looked at pictures of Sedona so many times....it's definitely on my list of places to visit! Hope you enjoy your trip!!

For Grand Canyon, does she have her Golden Years pass? You don't have to walk much, they have a nice gift shop, viewing area without having to do the trails if you aren't up for it. Bring a coat, we went in March and it was very cold and windy, I was shocked!
I love Sedona, the landscape is just so pretty.LDR

2012 Grocery Budget Reduction Challenge- $100 a month. (down from $150) Hm, might be too low.
Electric Usage Challenge (doing well, under $70 most months)
Yah, I suck at this money stuff, I know. That's why I'm here.

If you're flying into Vegas and driving - the Grand Canyon and Sedona are a full day's drive away. If you're flying into Phoenix and driving TO Vegas, they're kind of on the way. Both the GC and Sedona are certainly worth driving thru / by. Hoover Dam is impressive but traffic is usually backed up so plan on that.
It will be cold during January or February - Do bring warm clothes to wear.
We don't have a Golden Years Pass - but it would be a good idea.
Grand Canyon National Park - South Rim Shuttle Bus Routes 2010 (U.S. National Park Service)
This might help.
Whenever we've been to GC it's always been worth the hike.
Enjoy your trip and the Thank You for not boycotting AZ!

If I were you guys I would stay at an all inclusive place (maybe a casino) they usually have tours that you book through their concierge service. I would also call a local medical supply company and see about a motorized wheel chair (hover'round) I did this at disney because I have back trouble. It was 100 dollars for the week. Well worth it in my opinion. Most tour bus' have accomedations for wheel chairs.

For Vegas Red Rock Canyon; Valley of Fire; Lake Mead; Mt Charleston are great scenic escapes from the gaming hells and you can see a lot just from driving and very short walks.
