    Default Motorcycle Trip to Montana

    We just got back from a trip to Montana last week, went to a motorcycle rally at Red Lodge. My father lives about 30 miles from there so we were able to stay with him, which greatly reduced our expenses .
    We rode both bikes up, but I rode as passenger for a poker run so I could take pictures.

    There is also a video at the bottom of the page of a close encounter we had with a buffalo. A driver in front of us caught it on video and sent us a copy of it.

    GREAT pix! I am jealous.

    Hubby has a 2009 Fay Boy and I just got my 2006 Low Rider in January. My longest ride to date is about 200 miles. Hubby and I have BIG plans for seeing the USA by motorcycle in the very near future.

    That looks like an awesome trip. I would love to try a bike trip but can't convince DH. As a truck driver ,he sees too much on the road everyday so won't buy a bike again.

    I really enjoy travelling this way, so far besides trips to Montana to see my folks, we have ridden to Sturgis, both during rally time and non-rally time, California, and Nova Scotia Canada.
    Someday, when we've saved enough money, we also want to travel to Alaska, and the Grand Canyon. On longer trips like those, I usually ride pillion to save money. California was an exception as I wanted to ride a long trip on my own bike at least once(3000 miles roundtrip) and we had the $$$ to do it, loved it!!
    I have been told that my Honda VTX1300 is comparable to the Fat Boy, I added Leatherlyke saddlebags and trunk to it and it works great for traveling.
