I don't really care for it, but I have come to the conclusion that it's mostly the anticipation that bothers me. I am fine once I get in the air (weird I know)

I hate every moment of flying. I swear I am the only person on the flight that is fearing the worst. I look around and people are happily looking out the window, sipping drinks, reading, or sleeping. I'm gripping the arm rest for my life and can't wait to land.
This is hysterical considering I used to fly so often a few years ago. I have only flown once in the past 1.5 yrs.
I don't let my fear stop me. If I want to go somewhere, I'll still go.

9-11 has nothing to do with my fear. I am afraid of heights. I have only flown twice, out to my sister's in Seattle and back. If my brother-in-law hadn't died suddenly, I probably still wouldn't have gotten on a plane.

I love flying. I've only flown on a commercial flight once, but I grew up with my father and grandfather flying personal aircrafts. My grandfather owned an airplane most of my 'younger' years so I grew up with it.
I hate flying......(nothing to do with 9/11) I never had liked the idea of it..
Of course I have only flown 2 and both I was on good flights but the loss of control and knowing there is nothing I can do is VERY scary to me... I prefer driving that way I have control...
I've always been scared to fly. Dh's dad flies alot for work and has flyer miles. He has offered us free tickets anywhere in the US if we ever wanted to go someplace. I said "Thanks but NO THANKS!" I would literally have to be drugged or drunk to get on a plane.

With me it is the going up and down that bothers me.. makes me a bit uncomfortable. As long as the plane is smooth besides that I am fine... turbulance is another story
I love to fly!!!! Those nice stewards and stewardesses bringing me my meals and beverages and treating me like a queen just make my day! LOL! And...I don't have to hear "are we there yet?" from my kids like I do when we travel by car because they are busy enjoying the movie, listening to the radio, and visiting with people. We even flew from LAX back up to Spokane, WA in October after 9/11 and actually felt safer flying than driving. Our next flight will be to Hawaii in about 2 years and I'm already excited about that!
I have never flown anywhere. I don't intend to start now. I have always been afraid way before 9/11. I think it is because I am afraid of falling out of the sky and not being able to stop. It terrifies me.

The anticipation of the flight also gets to me, but once we are airborne, I'm usually OK. Then my big fear becomes missing my connecting flight.....I'm one of those people who really hustles between gates....whatever you do, don't just stand there on the people mover when I am running to catch my flight .
