Cali?
Hello all.
My husband and I are trying to plan a trip to California to see his cousin get married and to pretty much just get away! We have been married two years and never went on vacation just the two of us...not even a honeymoon due to financial situation.
I started looking at plane tickets ( we live in MI but will be flying out of PA) and the cheapest tickets I found were 1000 for both. This is way above our budget and devastating.
Any ideas? Great websites? tips?
Im frustrated but hopeful!

You can usually get a better rate if you book your tickets 21 days in advance. Try googling for different travel sites but make sure they are reputable before paying...for example - A site like Travelocity would be a safe site.
$1000 for both tickets seems high to me so keep checking around. I am sure you will find something within your budget. Have you thought about driving?.....then again the price of gas nowadays wouldn't help.

Sometimes it is cheaper to get a package deal. I don't know if you new hotel or car but travels sites like epedia might be your best bet. Also, my mother went to vegas for cheap and drove to cali for a few days. I am not sure were in cali she went but she said it was a lot cheaper to do that

Two things to try are SouthWest airlines and Priceline. Southwest has a lot of flights to California and you have to go to the Southwest website to find them. With Priceline just put in what is in your budget and see if there are any takers. You can also use Priceline for hotels. You might also want to consider taking Amtrak if you have the time.
