Thumbs up Just returned from my favorite place...

DH and I (and DD, of course!)   FINALLY got to take a little three-day vacation this week~ we went down to the Newport Aquarium in Newport, Kentucky.  We saw lots of "issshhh" (DD's word!) and spent several hours there.  I love fish anyway, and being there is just so relaxing to me.  I could spend hours walking through the tunnels--- you feel like you're underwater, with sharks and fish swimming right over you.  It's so amazing.

    Here's their website: http://www.newportaquarium.com

And on this page they show one pic of the tunnels-- not nearly enough to do them justice, but you get the idea.  Scroll down to "surrounded by sharks".  http://www.newportaquarium.com/exhibits/

I just love that aquarium!  I wish it was closer-- I'd be a member for sure.  It's about an hour and a half drive from here, so I've gone four or five times now.  If you're ever in the area, I'd definitely recommend stopping there.  Discount coupons are available at the rest stops in KY, too!

Sounds like a fun place to visit and I'm happy your family enjoyed it! Thanks for the link.

It reminds me of the big aquarium in Chicago that I went to. I was impressed with that one. I wish my 12 yo DD liked going places like that. She only wants to go to Chicago's boardwalk and shopping, not the other places like the museums and the aquarium.

I'd love to go there myself. A good friend of mine is getting married in Hawaii and they are holding their wedding reception at the aquarium. I so wish I could be there!
