    Default Our DC trip

I made reservations yesterday for our weekend in DC this April. We are only going to be there from Friday to Sunday so we are going to be short on time. I'm just wondering for those that have been there what do you recommend us seeing and doing in that short time. We are staying in Olde Towne Alexandria and will be taking the metro into town. Thanks for any advice!!

Ooooh Ooh, if you love seafood and can eat it while pregnant (I didn't like it so I can't remember if you can eat it or not...sorry), eat at the Fish Market in Old Towne Alexandria for sure! My ds and ddil took us there in July when we were there, I had a sandwich but everyone lurved the seafood.

There is soooo much to see in D.C. it's hard to pick just one or 2 things.....IF you can see the capitol building, the rotunda for sure. That's a real sight. The Smithsonian is divided into 3 buildings now and you could do one of those while you're there. We did Arlington National Cemetary and it was soooo interesting. We're gonna go back and spend lots more time there next trip.
Should you find yourself in the area of the Congressional offices, my ds works in the office of Congresswoman Pelosi He gives a great capitol tour but you have to set it up ahead of time.....esp. since that's not his job anymore. (you have to set it up ahead of time no matter who does the tour)

Thanks for the tips. I'm keeping these ideas in a notebook for ideas when we get there. I have heard other people mentioning the fish market to eat at so we will be sure to check that out.
