    Default We're heading to Reno!!

Malcom called me this morning and told me when the pool tournament is (he's playing in it) and asked if I minded getting tickets and hotel room for us. Well of course I didn't have to think twice about this!! We will be there for five days and I can't wait!!

Has anyone been there before? I would love to hear your stories.

DH and I got married in Reno

Do you really want to hear the story? LOL! Let's just say that it was a day full of mishaps..that were NOT funny at the time, but are HILARIOUS now in retrospect!

We stayed at the Peppermill, and it was an awesome place. Our suite simply rocked! We had a huge suite with a king size bed, jacuzzi, living room area with huge sectional sofa, dining room...heck our suite had 3 TV's if that tells you anything. And we were on the 14th floor with an amazing view of the city.

DH and I are considering going back and staying in the same suite on our 10th anniversary

Which hotel are you staying in? I used to live in Northern CA and we used to go up to Reno from time to time, I am pretty familiar with the hotels.

We are staying in the Atlantis and we are going in the beginning of May. Do you know anything about that hotel?

The Atlantis is very, very nice. I like that it is off the Strip, as a matter of fact the nearest hotel to it is the Peppermill. It is a beautiful hotel, you will just love it! Have fun

$37 is not bad at all! I think that one of the cool things about Reno is that really good hotel deals can often be found there. The HUGE suite that we got for our wedding was only $129/night and it was fantastic. We felt "rich and famous" LOL! We paid for DH's best friend's room in the same hotel and that was only $49 for a tower room--a bit more, but we got married in August during Hot August Nights and rooms are generally a little more expensive at that time.

OH and I forgot to mention that taxis are very inexpensive in Reno and they are plentiful! I was shocked at how cheap they were there. I just thought I should share that, since you are staying at Atlantis which is a little ways off the main "strip". We only paid about $5 to get from the Peppermill to the strip and I don't imagine that it would be very much more than that from Atlantis. A lot of the hotels on the strip are kind of cheesey (IMHO) which is why we chose Peppermill. A friend's sister had a VERY bad experience at the Silver Legacy!
