TimeShare Vacations

I have a timeshare. It is local (New Jersey), I live in Jersey, so I am able to use it all of the time. I often split my weeks and really love it. I did have one in Mexico for many years but never used it. Fortunately I was able to rent it every year. I finally sold it. Thank goodness.

I am wondering if anyone else has timeshare(s) and really uses them? Do you also travel to other destinations through RCI or one of the other sharing clubs? Just curious to see how other people with TS's vacation

Dh and I have looked into the idea!! We are torn though, wondering how often if ever we would be able to go there!

Hi Pepper,

I have found that if you purchase a timeshare, even if you get it at a bargain price you won't use it, if it is too far away because of airfare. It can be cost prohibitive if you have children and even you don't airfare should be considered.

If you and hubby were able to find something close by that you really liked you would probably use it a lot. Just think of what you like to do and the kind of weather you enjoy.

We bought one in Virginia Bch this summer. We bought a two bedroom with lock out feature so we will probably split it to a week there and a week in Stowe Vt.
