These are the pictures I promised to post of York, old York in the UK as opposed to New York in the USA

York is about 40 mins drive from my home and about 2 hours ( or less) by train, from London, much longer by car

Please feel free to post your thoughts at the end of the pictures, I will say when I have posted the last one....................

..One of  the many VERY old Churches in York 800-900 years old some of these!

..The information board on my favourite old church ( which is hard to photograph from way back as you would have to stand in the road!!!!!!!) also these churches are dotted around and the City has grown up around them.

..The stained glass window inside the very old church............this is the place I light candles for any one I know is having problems/going through a bad patch.

A church with atmostphere, the hairs stand up on the back of my neck in this place

I love it in here you can feel the history of the place

..The original  "Stocks" outside of the Church,  the transgressor would have their ankles/feet put through the holes and be "locked in" and the public then could thow things at them, rocks, rotton food all kinds of things

..Another view of the river...............when it floods , on  a very regular basis the water often reaches half way up the buildings on the left hand side of the picture
