That sounds nice but B&Bs tend to be expensive. At least the ones around here....

We might go to the mountains in eastern kentucky and get a cabin and take the train tour. You can get a cabin for $80/night and the train ride is $30. Not that we'll be out of the cabin much anyway.......

We had areally weird honeymoon. Dh had booked us for about 4 days in N. Idaho at a nice resort...in June. We took the boat so we could dink around on the lake, etc. Well, June 4th...it was snowing!!!! We stayed for a day and 1/2...then decided we had so much to do *at home* that we just left. My parents had taken the girls for a week, but I still had to move all our stuff into the house, clean my apt, etc....so we spent the rest of the time doing that! Actually, it was great. We were together (all we really cared about) and got all settled in, unpacked, and for us, it was wonderful. But we're kinda weird that way....anytime we are together, we have fun...still, 11 years later

Ours was taken in Oct. after our June wedding. We couldn't take off work when we got married and had to wait. (One reason we now work for ourselves!) Anyway I had grown up in the south and had only traveled during the summer monthes had never seen fall. DH was rasied in the mountains of Virginia and he KNEW fall. We camped up and down the Blue Ridge Parkway! WOW!!!! What memoriable event for both of us. Me all the colors and smells, Him watching a grown women play in the leaves and almost get whiplash looking around so fast. He still jokes 20 years later he thought I was going to leap out of the moving car when we came around the first bend and I saw the colors in the valleys. I have pressed leaves under glass along with pictures taken that trip. He had never camped before he met me and it was his first long term trip. Before that we had only done weekends here in Florida.
Now we try to go somewhere north for leaves every year.

You might consider a cruise. They can be found for very cheap most of the time. Plus, they're all-inclusive, so as long as you stay out of the casino and don't drink too much alcohol you know exactly how much you'll be spending.

Well ours was a gift from family: they paid for us to stay in a local sheraton that was on the water in Lojolla, CA for 2 days it was wonderful and only 20 miles from were we lived........I would say it was about 300. dollars and they also paid for our first dinner in the downstairs restaurant.

When we wanted to go onto a trip and money was tight we booked a stay with a timeshare place (Westgate resorts) and it was cheap for us. We stayed into a small size apartment which had everything from washer and dryer( which then you don't need to pack so much) to a full kitchen. We only had to take a tour and listen to their speach. In this resorts there is so much to do and see. My family enjoyed it a whole bunch. Make sure that you play hard ball and then you will get some free tickets for something in that area.
