Things to do in New Mexico

Does anyone live there, or ever vacationed there? DH and I have been discussing where we want to move when he retires. We both want out of IL! We want to move to a warmer, drier climate. We've been thinking of either Arizona or New Mexico. I'm trying to plan a week trip for us in either May or Sept. to New Mexico. I'm thinking about the Albuquerque area.

Yes, I've lived all over it. Northern tends to get snow that is rare in the South. Carlsbad has a high percentage of retirees, and most are very active. If you come down here, let me know and I'll play tour guide and make suggestions. PM me if you want. Incidentally, I grew up in Arizona and love it also, so can give some pointers there too if you want. Let me know....

Forgot to thank you for the heads up on Carlsbad.... I'll definitely research it. DH is a little freaked out about the heat....lol...but I know you guys don't get near the humidity we do here and that should make a big difference.
