    Default destin/fort walton fl area

    what is there to do in destin or fort walton beach? dks and i will be going down for a week to visit dh while he is there on business. looking for ideas on things to do with the kids. AAA and the florida tourism websites don't have much of anything on this area of fl.

    We have been to this area several times. One of my fav things there is Krispy Kreme Donuts!! LOL! Honestly, we always stop in there. The kids love all the water parks, putt putt golf and all the other touristy things. There are some wonderful restaurants there. There is an outlet mall. The beaches are marvelous. We love walking the beaches and searching for shells. You will have a wonderful time.

    We go there several times a year for mini 2-4 day vacation. There are several fun things to do. Like Emily_Hope said, everything from miniature golf, to arcades, water slides, deep sea fishing excursions everywhere, some of the best places to eat, etc....We spend Thanksgiving there every year and do aal of our day after Thanksgiving shopping at the big outlet mall. It is huge!!! Plus, the beaches are great. My family has a house in Panama City Beach (about 45 minutes from Destin) and we can stay there for free, but we prefer to pay and stay in Destin. It is much more family oriented.
