    Default Southernmost Point & Margaritaville

Today, we went to the Southernmost point of US, I believe. The sign said we were 90 miles from Cuba. Wow! We saw the begining and the ending of Highway 1, mile marker 0. We walked the streets, passed the lighthouse, Ernest Hemmingway's home and went to Jimmy Buffet's Margaritaville. We saw some female impersonators!
Sorry to say, we didn't have time for shell hunting or visiting Jimmy Buffet's recording studio, but I sure would have liked to have done both. We have to drive back to Miami tomorrow and get on the standby list. We will either fly out Wednesday afternoon or Thursday morning, hopefully. My DDs will be back from their trip with their father on Thursday and we need to be there. LOL! This trip went by so fast. I took lots of pictures, especially of our Dgrandsons. It may be a while before we see them again.

It sounds like your trip has been most enjoyable. How relaxing is must be for you. The area where you are sounds really beautiful and has neat tourist things to see. Enjoy the rest of the trip.

Oh it's really too bad if you didn't get to have a piece of Key Lime Pie at Margaritaville (oh and a margarita ofcourse ). Glad you've had such a great time.

I can't believe the time has flown by so quickly for you! Seems like you just posted you were there. Funny how vacations seem to fly by. I am glad to hear you had an enjoyable time!!

I hope you get an early flight out on Wed. and don't have to sit and wait in the airport all day. Have a safe flight home.

Yep, it's true....time does fly by when you're having fun.

I meant to mention the Hemmingway house to you a few posts back. It was one of my favorite places to visit again and again because of the Polydactyl (meaning many toes) cats that still reside there. I've owned three myself. Legend has it that a sea capt. gave a Polydactyl tom to Hemmingway as a gift not long after he arrived in Key West. Go here to find out more about the house and cats.

    Click on The Legend.

Blew out my flip flop, stepped on a pop top. Cut my heal, had to cruise on back home. Yep, the memories are flooding back!

Have a safe trip back. Can't wait to see the pics.

No Key Lime Pie, but my DStepdaughter insisted we have a margarita. She wanted to buy me one. I had lime of course! My DH doesn't drink, so he got a t-shirt LOL!

Oh, you should have had the pie! Sooo good! I haven't been able to drink a margarita since I went to Margaritaville - everywhere else tastes awful in comparison.
