Anyone been to Disne World lately?

We are planning to be in Disney at the end of the week.
Can anyone tell me where we can see characters from the Cars movie? My son is crazy about Lightning McQueen and Mater.

Any tips on anything we should watch out for or definately check out?

We go every December for 10 -14 days. The characters from Cars are in the MGM Studios park. They do not stay out long. On our last trip we only saw them once the entire time. Most characters do not just walk around the parks, they have set stations. Their station was down from The Great Movie Ride, going towards the Star Tours attraction. A few chacters will walk around, but most don't.

Try going to DisBoards.com Click on this and it will direct you to the forums. There are so many tips, tricks, ideas ad plans. Another site is MouseForLess.com. Both of these sights will give you lots of time and money saving tips. They will also give you lots of fun things to do as well. There is so much more to WDW than the parks. Like I said we go every December for at least 10 days, plus there are times we go twice a year. As many times as we have been there there are still things we have never done, and I am strictly talking about Disney, not Universal or any Orlando attractions. We rarely leave Disney property once we arrive.

We always stay onsite and get daily park info when we check in. Normally this is where we can find out when certain characters will be out and where they will be.

If you have any questions, I will be happy to try and answer. We are planning to go down in October for a few days so I can go Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party. This is one event I have not done yet. Are you doing the Pirates and Princesses party?

If it is time to get your son's haircut, have it done at the barber shop in the Magic Kingdom. It is located down Main Street, near Casy's Hot Dogs.

Eat a Dole Whip - they are awsome. Located in Magic Kingdom, down from Aladin's Magic Carpet ride and The Swiss Family Robinson Tree House.

Look for the talking trash cans.

Buy the book Hidden Mickeys and pass your time in lines and walking around searching for the hidden Mickeys.

There are so many more little things to look for and see. Have you been before? If so, how long ago was your last trip?

Sorry this is sooooo long. I live for Disney World and get so excited when I talk about it. DH and I love it more than the kids - we wish we lived closer. It is exactly 476 miles from our driveway to the archway entrance.

We went to Disney in November. I was so much fun. They are located in the MGM down the Movie Street near Star Wars. I believe they are also in the Parade. Have a great time.

I've been there twice, but that was when I lived in PA. I live an hour away from there now, and haven't been there. Costs too much!

We were in Disney at Christmas 2005. It was so packed they closed the park gates at 10:30 in the morning. We waited almost 1 1/2 hours to ride Dumbo.

We are hoping to have MUCH less crowds this time around.

Thank you for the tips on the Cars characters. We were planning to visit The Magic Kingdom and MGM. Unfortunately the Pirate and Princess parties don't start again until August. A friend did one in February and thought it was great!

I'll check out the boards too!
