Default Pictures from the Outer Banks

I have uploaded a few pictures from our vacation in the Outer Banks in the gallery here.

My DMother feeding the birds. This became a daily activity. They would eat right out of your hand. I was too chicken to let them eat out of my hand. I would just toss the bread up and let them catch it.

Here is one of the beautiful rainbow that we saw. This photograph does not do justice to the rainbow. It was a complete rainbow with a reflection behind it.

This is my DD18 in the sand dunes.

And of course we also have DD16 in the sand dunes.

We got up one morning at 5:30 to watch the sunrise over the Atlantic Ocean. It was definitely worth it.

We visited Kill Devil Hill where the Wright Brothers taught the world how to fly.

We climbed to the top of the tallest lighthouse in the United States.

We watched the sunset on Jockey's Ridge.

We rode the ferry to Ocracoke.

We had such a wonderful time. Maybe we will be able to go back and visit again someday. Hope I didn't bore you too much.

Great pictures!! Did you like it there?? Were their restaurants close by, how about put put golf, waterslides?/ I am asking because we are thinking of going there next summer. Some people like it because of it being a quiet area, and then I have heard others say they didn;'t like it , because it isn't commercialized enough. What is your take on it??

I suppose some areas are different than others. We stayed in a town called Waves, near Rodanthe. If you read Nicholas Sparks, you've heard of Rodanthe. LOL! We had plenty of restaurants to choose from, pizza places, a Dairy Queen within walking distance from the house we rented. Didn't see any waterslides, but did see a few putt putt golf places and go carts. I'd love to go back.
